After years of problems in which there were massive reshoots, multiple delays, rumors that it would arrive in the form of streaming, the last mutant film made by 20th Century Fox: The New Mutants finally arrived in theaters in the United States. Unfortunately, the critics have not been fans of her, the audience neither and now one of the co-creators of the comic criticizes her.

Bob McLeod, co-creator of New Mutants, posted on Facebook his feelings about the film and did not reserve anything, “The New Mutants”: US critics will not review the film here we share what he posted.

“I was very excited when they announced that they would make a New Mutants movie. I thought making it a horror movie was maybe an interesting idea, but not at all how the characters should be introduced to the general public. But hey! My characters in a movie. I never thought this could happen. So, I was disappointed when Dani didn’t have braids, even though I like Blu Hunt. I was disappointed when Rahne didn’t have spiky red hair, even though I adore Maisie Williams. I was disappointed that Sam wasn’t tall or lanky, even though I like Charlie Heaton. But above all, I was quite disappointed that Roberto was not short or dark skinned. Another case of the “white-washing” of Hollywood. There is no excuse. So basically Josh Boone erased everything that was contributing to the appearance of the characters. And now, the movie is finally out, and apparently they gave credit to someone named Bob MacLeod as co-creator. The New Mutants: first two minutes of the film and new posters They didn’t even bother to check the correct spelling of my name at any point in these three years. And that cannot be fixed. It will be in the movie forever. I think I’m done with this movie. ”

As you can read, McLeod’s criticism is brutal, since the aesthetic changes to the characters were too many and a writing error at the Hollywood level is unforgivable.

It is expected that New Mutants will reach the rooms that are open in our country on September 3.
